LLU Information
Broadband goes through your telephone line which in turn is connected to a telephone exchange. Over the past few years suppliers have been able to reduce the cost of broadband packages because BT have allowed other suppliers to put their own broadband connecting equipment in the telephone exchanges. If your telephone exchange is LLU enabled then you are able to receive these reduced prices stated above because our suppliers will be able to use their own equipment. If your telephone exchange is not LLU enabled then our suppliers won't be able to supply you the very cheapest prices but can still provide an excellent value service. To find out if you are on an LLU enabled exchange please visit http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker and insert your phone number into the checker. Once the check has been completed, click on the LLU tab on the left hand side and if there are ticks against any of the options then you are in an LLU enabled exchange. If there are all crosses in this section then you are not.
If you need further assistance or are still not sure please call The Phone Coop direct on 0845 458 9040 and they can clarify further.
