The St Edmundsbury Sailing & Canoeing Association (SESCA) is a small, family orientated watersports club based at Lackford Lake, five miles NW of Bury St Edmunds.
The Club season runs from the last weekend in March until early November, with on the water activities taking place on most days throughout the season. A fleet of sailing dinghies and kayaks is available for hire to Club members, so it is not necessary to own your own boat if you want to sail or canoe.
The Club organises dinghy racing on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays and Thursday evening pursuit races throughout the summer. Other activities include race training, youth sailing and ‘Have a Go’ sessions. The Club also runs RYA sailing courses and coaching sessions for members.
The Club hosts a number of other sailing organisations including: the Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Mildenhall Sea Cadets; YPA (Young People Afloat); WASH Sailability (disabled sailing); Suffolk Scouts; Culford and Priory Schools.
Whether you are interested in dinghy sailing (pottering or racing), canoeing or just like the great outdoors, you are most welcome to visit the Club to see what we have to offer. Junior (11-17) membership £25 pa; adult £62 pa and family £72 pa.
